Welcome to my Quilt Along - introduction

Welcome to our first Quilt Along! Join the fun and l et me teach you how to make my quilt:  Spinning Wheels.   See how easy it is to make a curved quilt all while sewing straight seams using Peeled-Back Patchwork. I designed the Quilt Along so we can work on a different part of the quilt every day.  I have allowed time for everyone to catch up before I post the next step.   Best of all you can use your scraps .   The majority of the pieces needed are 2-1/2" squares, which you may have already cut or you can easily cut from pre-cuts;  strips, charms, and even 10" squares. Click here for your List of Materials and Supplies: I will post the cutting instructions tomorrow (19 Mar 2020) at 8:00am EST  Piecing and sewing instructions for each day will be on my blog at 8:00am EST, starting Monday, March 23 and every morning thereafter until completion.   Join me on Facebook live 10:00am EST tomorrow to give you a short introduction, talk about fabric and supp

Fish Tail Challenge

? GOT SCRAPS?? - I know you do, so here is my Summer Quilt Challenge for you! Use up some of your colorful scraps: 3-1/2", 2-1/2, and 2" squares to make a Fish Tail Quilt. Here are some images to get you inspired and started. I will post the approximate number of squares needed for a 30" x 30" and 30" x 40" quilt in the comments.- so who wants to play? Check below for the recommended number and sizes for the quilt. Challenge:   Come up with an original way to let your fish swim .  The design is basic and works well in a mock-up so you can plan your colors. Plan on using these Scraps for a 30" x 30" or 30" x 40" quilt: background squares 100 - 3-1/2” squares 100 - 2” squares, folded in half to make folded triangles to form the fish body. colorful scrappy squares 50 - 3-1/2” squares for the fish body 50 - 2-1/2” squares for the tail
